Khulna University of Engineering & Technology or KUET, formerly known as BIT, Khulna, is one of the best Engineering Universities in Bangladesh. About two thousand students are enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and science courses in this institute. The faculty constitutes of teachers counting over 150. The University has continued to expand with the construction of new academic buildings, auditorium complex, halls of residence, teachers dormitory, engineering section building etc.

Campus

The university campus extends over an area of 101 acres. Tastefully laid out with beautiful plantation and with buildings of various nature and stature, clean and wide roads the campus presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. Admissions

Candidate for admission into the first year class must have passed the H.S.C. Examination from an Education Board in Bangladesh with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as his or her subjects of examination in Higher Secondary level or examination recognized as equivalent thereto, and must also fulfill all other requirements as may be prescribed by the Academic Council on the recommendation of the Admission Committee. In case of confusion regarding the equivalence the case may be referred to central Equivalence Committee. The rules and conditions for admission into different departments shall be framed by the Academic Council on the recommendation of the Admission Committee in each year. All candidates for admission into the courses of B. Sc. Eng. must be citizens of Bangladesh unless the candidature is against the seats those are reserved for foreign students. Candidates for all seats except the reserved ones, if any, shall be selected on the basis of merit. The rules for admission into the reserved seats shall be framed by the Academic Council on the recommendation of the Admission Committee.

Halls of residence

Student dormitories are important features in campus life. There are six residential halls to provide housing for KUET students. Among them the Rokeya Hall is for women, and the remaining five halls are for male students.

Administrative heads of a hall is its provost and Assistant Provost. Usually the halls have a single provost and an assistant provost in contrast to Amor Ekushey Hall, which is administrated by one provost and two assistant provosts. The halls are mostly named after national heroes and leaders. The halls are:
